Default Clutch question

k guys...ive been searching and reading around and havent quite found what I am looking for. Here is my problem:

When I the car is at idle in neutral with none of the pedals in, I can hear a squeeking sound. Now, when i barely push on the clutch at all (not even enough to put it in gear or anything), it goes away but i can still feel it in my foot. You can hear a slight clunking sound too inside the car. The clunking sound and squeeking can be heard inside but only the squeeking can be heard outside. Many people have told me its the TOB, but I am not quite convinced its that. What do you guys think?

I have a 2002 GT if that helps any.

i dont know if we have the same problem but.... if im really getting on it and slam it into third or fourth (those to gears only) it will make a squeeking sound and when i am driving my shifter feels like (very hard to describe) feels as if you took a pencil in one hand made a circle with the other and put the pencil in the hole and knocked it back in forth (thats how it feels on my shifter) i used to think it was at certain rpms but its pretty much random and happens alot.... oh and it was still under warrenty so i brought it back and they said clutch, throw out bearing, and pressure plate were bad and replaced them and then the problem just came back ????? the only other thing i could think of was sychornizer .... sorry if it sounds really dumb but i didnt kno how else to say it ??? (sorry about spelling).....

i didnt mean to butt in blackwell but maybe some one can tell us both are problems and kill 2 birds with one stone....[]

It is the TOB. Unlike the old days, the TOB is in contact with the pressure plate at all times so it turns anytime the engine is turning. When you just put your foot on the clutch you are loading the TOB up just a bit, that is why the sound changes. If you want to completly satisfy yourself, unhook the cable, pull and hold the clutch fork back (gets TOB off pressure plate so it will not turn) while you start the car, noise should be gone.
