I'm gonna go with the Mach 1 engine (change the computer and wire harness), a t56 trans, complete rear end job and do up the whole suspetion. I know its gonna be some work but nothin too hard ya know. Have you ever heard of JDM? Its a performance shop in NJ. I was going to take the car there after to let them tune it.
Yea Ive been there before for my stang but their prices are crazy, but their work is good. I live in burlington

Dude... you will need new exhaust, a new tranny, new shifter new ECU, new wiring harnesses, etc etc etc
why would he need a new tranny?
His current tranny wont support the engine, the bellhousing and all that wont fit properly. It simply isnt made for it, but he said he's getting the t-56, so it's all good :-p

i neglected to see the fact that his gt is a 97. the 01-04 gt has the same tranny as the mach i think.

in other news i had talked to the people at tremec and they said that the t-56 would bolt right up to a 2V but i might need a different driveshaft......i can't remember if they said shorter or longer.

why dont you get this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SVT-4...QQcmdZViewItem

It comes with the transmission, engine, exhaust manifold, h-pipe, wiring harness. Im not sure if its got the computer but you can find one somewhere if it doesnt. Thransmission is 5 speed but brand new.

Or check out this web page.

new engines...
http://www.karkraft.com/engines.htm

used engines.
http://www.karkraft.com/used_engines.htm

longblocks.
http://www.karkraft.com/long_blocks.htm

shortblocks.
http://www.karkraft.com/short_blocks.htm

The T56 tranny will bolt up to a 2v motor. The block is the same design as the cobra block. It will bolt right up, a shorter drive shaft is needed and a different cross brace for the transmisson.

If you got the money deffinitly get a 4v motor, there much better than a 2v in my opinion. I wish I had the money I would buy that cobra motor off of ebay. It sucks ford isnt selling the cobra motors anymore, it was such a deal like $5000 for that motor and trans now its $6300 what the f*ck!!

Also be aware that there are two different kinds of mach motors. The automatic versions featured a cast crank with a 6 bolt for the fly wheel. Just like a GT. But the manual version mach one came with a forged crank which is much stronger and has an 8 bolt crank just like the cobras.

The Mach is gonna run me $5,700 with tax and all. As far as I know thats all I have to change is just the harness and the ECU. I heard it will bolt right up with my k-member. Yeah I blew my current 2v. I broke a connecting rod and kept on driving the car a little bit and then it just blew. I know with the Mach engine and the bolt ons I want to do, I will be in the 12's. I'll be happy with that for now. Then if anything I will through a KB on top of it next year if I want more power.
Ok, these are estimates of course, but it is what I have seen em going for:

2v shortblock w/ forged assembly: 2500
2v performance cams: 500
2v performance heads: 1200
2v Performance intake: 1200
2v performance springs: 200

Total cost; 5600

There are of course alot of fasteners etc that you would need, but most of the top end stuff should still be good from your car, including all of the accessorries.

This engine would put a stock mach 1 engine to shame. Hell, you should be making more power to the ground than a stock mach 1 engine does at the fly. Not to mention that it is ready to make 600+ RWHP with a blower or N20.

Screw a stock motor crate engine when you can build your own for cheaper and have much more power.

I called Mustang Parts Specailists (mustang junk yard), about a Mach1 of Cobra engine. The only thing they had was a used Mach engine with 19k mls, wire harness, computer, tranny and fuel pump for $5,200. Some of my friends are telling me to get that one instead to save some money. But its taking a chance, I might be taking on someone elses problems.
