Well, I drive a 1997 mustang gt, 5 speed, and a good friend of mine drives a 1999 gt, 5 speed.

The other day we got to talking about our cars, and I ended up telling him I get about 50 in first gear in my car.

He says he didn't think his car could go that high in first gear.

Well earlier today he shows up at my house and ends up telling me he can only get around 40. So we go out and sure enough, he gets about 40 at the rev limiter and I get 50, we tested both cars.

I thought we had the same rear ends and transmissions?

The cars both have stock rims and close tire sizes (40 and 45mm).

Whats going on?

He has stock 3.27's

 

Wow, I though my car came with 3.23's also.

He only beat me by a car and a half to 120 with better gearing, that confuses me.

 

Remember...99+ 4.6's have the p.i. heads man.. that's why he beat you... + the gearing..

 

he should have beet you more then that, maybe he cant drive. he has 40 more hp and better gears.

I know how much more power he has then me, thats why it confused me. I know he isn't that bad of a driver either. Wierd.

As far as I know, only a CAI. But I'm beggining to wonder. The heads will be off soon, I guess I'll find out then.
