Default Ram air intake

does anyone know where I can find a Ram airintake for my 2003 mustang GT. I dont want to buy a new hood, and I like hood scoops so i dont want to change it, but I cant find a ram air for that without buying a new hood. So any websites would help about ram air intakes for hood scoops.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page. You take off the silencer on your stock air box and put that peice that they give you on there along with the piping and funnel. You can also make your own, I am going to make my own eventually, and use a air bypass vavle like the imports use on there ram air kits.

this is the kit that i have and i like it. you can use your stock scoop. but you need to cut a hole in your hood beneath it.

Do you get a good boost with those things. I would think so. Any 1/4 times with one? I bet you could get a second or so but I wonder about tuning.

ram air sucks unless you're going at very high speeds. besides, you won't see any real performance difference between going with an expensive ram air over a K&N intake. people get them shakers or ram airs that use your stock scoop strictly for looks. hell, i'd get one of them shaker kits for the GT if i had $700 laying around.

so basically if i want to blow $700 then go for it and if not just buy a cold air intake. is it true that the suction sound off of those can be loud and annoying?

you can't hear a thing.

the scoop isn't going to give you much benefit in the 1/4.....maybe shave off.1 or.2 seconds.......but it is noticable at high speeds.......highway speeds you can tell.

Just take your head light out when you go to the track run a couple of times then put it back on and see if it makes a difference first
