PI intake swap
I used a kit last time, but I think thistime I will do it myself, Do I need a different alternator? I thought all I would need to put this intake on was a colant tube the intake, and my home made spacers, whats with the alternator?

RE: PI intake swap
I think you need a new alternator bracket not a new alternator.

RE: PI intake swap
What's with the new alternator bracket? I never did that when i did a pi swap and all of my accessories lined up.

RE: PI intake swap
Well Im just swapping out the intake only. So I will have a pi intake on NON PI heads. That is why I need the bracket. I am asuming you did a full swap heads, intake?

RE: PI intake swap
ok yeah, my bad i didn't read that right.

RE: PI intake swap
Good luck getting a bracket from the dealer. Those mutts. I just drilled my non-pi one to make it fit onto my PI manifold. Not swapped the heads yet.

RE: PI intake swap
Does the PI intake manifold alone help out much?? What kind of power increased would you be looking at???

RE: PI intake swap
Despite what others will tell you, you can't really feel the difference. I got it because I had a coolant leak and wanted the aluminum crossover thats only available on the PI manifold. It was a lot of fun putting it on tough. I can tell you one thing though: The PI manifold mates JUST FINE with the non-pi heads. You don't need any "adapter plates" or anything like that. Just use PI gaskets and they'll mate beautifully since the PI ports are larger than then non-pi ports. C
