Yep, I took a lot of crap for having an auto, but I always said the same thing... "Wanna line 'em up then?"

It boils down to this:

Manual = Fun
Auto = Practical

Chose one.

Mine also is an auto. I drive it daily and wouldn't want the manual. If it was a garaged weekend vehivle maybe....

Manual is they way to go. My winter car is a 00' Pontiac Grand Prix, It has a 3.8L V6 that I sometimes wish it was a manual because it would be more fun to drive.

ORIGINAL: rbstang

sometimes i wish i had 2 transmissions. An auto for traffic and a Manual for everything else.
Put a convertor on a manual, think about it, the best of both, I once road a Moto Guzy bike 1000cc, it had a convertor on a 3 speed manual transmissions, you could just pull up to a light and stop with out pulling in the clutch lever, and just give it gas to go, like a automatic then shift the next gear manually, or you could stop, pull in the clutch lever and rev it to any RPM and let out the clutch just like a manual, you can even get the wheel to spin, it was a ball to ride.
PS You could leave from a stop in any gear.

i guess im in a different position than alot of people here,,,
sort of,, maybe?

my mustang is my summer car, but i drive it almost 95% of the time in the summer before my other car.. so in a way its a daily driver, and yes, i drive in a big city sometimes

but i still would not want the car that i put 12K into to be any less fun than it is because of the transmission being an auto

i guess we can agree that this is a never-ending debate about taste..
i just assume everyone wants to have as much fun as possible with their car, so why would you buy an auto,, but once again, its all preference and needs[X(]
