I have them on my s-10...(s-10 with 383 stroker Swap)
they are great RACING gears... but just exactly that.
they whine.....
My s-10 is a street truck, but I mean I rarely use it on the street... mainly just driving to the strip
so it doesnt bug me... plus exhaust covers up the whine except everyonce in a while @ cruise speed.
but if you are driving all the time etc... in your mustang I dont think you would want them.

you would be best to go with FRRP gears...
you can get the 4.10's 4.30's or 3.73's for around $189.00

NO whine at all with the FRRP's in my GT.

I wish now I would have asked what gears they install before I had them order my parts. I told the specifics of the other stuff, but when it came to gears I just said 4:10. I might end up kicking myself now, but to late. Get my car back in the morning some time.

Any chance of having no whine. Im assuming this is a perfect install.

I guess in any case I will post after the break in period to say how they are

Anything is possible. Lot of shimming may have to be done on those gears. Hopefully the installer knows WTF hes doin. I wish you lots of luck on the outcome.[sm=laughat.gif] < thats you.....[sm=joke.gif]

Yeah I actually got to watch him. I showed up about that time so i got to watch. Looked to me to know what he was doing. I saw him shimming it, and check the tooth contact using some stuff(didnt see what the stuff was, assuming it was nondrying Prussian blue or something like that).

Thanks for the wishes of luck on the outcome.

Yeah they do whine on the highway, but the stereo covers it up if its turned up to 3 notchs.

Im already use to the gears. 3k rpm comes quicker.
Im just not use to not my clutch yet. Spec stg2, with a aluminum flywheel.
