Will I be in the 13's?
Ok, so for the near to mid future, my goal for my car is jsut to get it consistantly in the high 13's. As of right now, I have Flowmaster cat back, BBK o/r h-pipe, JBA shorties, Mac c.a.i., Pro 5.0 and brand new Motorcraft plugs and wires. I was thinking that when I get the C&l plenum and MAC 70 mm tb, 3:73's(b/c I do a lot of highway driving), and Steeda upd's I should be into the 13's. Am I right do you think? Please post what you guys think would get me into the 13's if it isnt what I put down. Thanks, anything helps!

I am not possitive b/c I have never ran my car at the track yet. But wit the mods I have I would say that after a couple passes I would prob run like a low 14 second 1/4 mile time. Do you think im being too generous? The reason I say this is because when I first got the car, I made a pass on tiny, bald tires on a G-Timer and i think i ran like a 14.7 or something, but that was when I didnt know how to drive the car and it runs a lot better now too. But I am hoping that with the mods I mentioned in the first post, I will be able to hit 13's!

It will really come down do track prep, weather conditions and driver ability. Most GTs will need exhaust or gear upgrade to see 13's... but a set of slicks, a great launch and some gear slamming will get you a very high 13 sec pass. My best time in my stock GT was 14.1 and I was slamming gears on stock tires. So its possible.

I have a question myself..I am going to get gears in the spring either 3.73's or 4.10's.My question is it's a daily driver and I drive 30 minutes one way to work on the freeway 5-6 days a week.My car is an auto.I know most people recommend 4.10's for automatics but with as much highway driving I do what gear should I go with???

For an auto... I would be a little undecided. 4.10's is by far the best gear for these cars. But you have a 4 speed. I dont know what the final drive gear in the tranny is on those. I would say see what the final drive is and if its anywhere near close to what the 5 speed is then get the 4.10's. If not then look into 3.90's or 3.73's.

I have 4.10's in my car (auto) and have taken it on trips to Tampa, about 2-3 hours running 77-80 MPH and the gas milage is the same as when I would run 85-90 with stock gears. I would defently not get anything lower that the 4.10's for out auto's. You will just need to slow down on your trips to and from work. Remember the difference is only about 200 RPM's between 3.73 and 4.10's. Get the 4.10's you will be really happy with them. I love mine!!!!!
