Default Really low hanging exhaust.

Ok, my car is lowered 1 1/2" more than stock I measured from my side skirts to the ground I have 7" of clearance. But I installed longtubes recently and my exhaust is now like 2" lower than it used to be. I have 3" of clearance!!!! I brought my car to a car wash today because it is about 24 degrees here, The guy drove it onto the track for the left wheels, and the muffler slamed into the track and the cat-back riped off the x-pipe pulling the flange of the x-pipe. I hammered it back on and I am good to go. But is this how it usually lays? It seems very low, but there is no way for me to raise it. I want to lower my car another 1 1/2" but that will give me only 1 1/2" of clearence from my exhaust this is rediculious!!

my stock catted H hits the track at the car wash with a 1.5 inch drop.....but not as bad as it will when i get the long tubes.

don't drive over any speedbumps.

and for the love of god don't drop it another 1.5".

Survey says: Don't lower your car.

I never hit the tracks at the car wash with the stock h-pipe. Honostly the longtubes dropped everything like 2"s. No joke. I have about 1 1/2" of a gap between the top of my tires and the fender, I am eventually going to get coil-overs, and drop it until there is no gap. But my exhaust will hit everwhere. Is there anythign I can do about it?

Instead of lowering your car more to get rid of the wheel gap, get larger wheels. Go with 18s. They will raise your car and fill the wheel gap.

18's would look nice but it would add more weight to my reciprocating mass. And the 18's will move the weight further out and waist more energy. I want to eventually road race my car, so everything I buy is for function. I already added 5 lbs, with my bigger wheels and tires to the fronts, I notice I big degrade in my brakes because of it. I want to get my car as low as possible without damaging it all the time.

Loosen the midsection, use a jack to jack it up a bit, then re-tighten, should give you a little more clearance if done properly.

rotating mass not reciprocating mass.

unless your wheels are giving you back everything you give to them......which would be very nice of them.

get magnesium 18" wheels.......cost a metric assload but very light.

having your car that low isn't going to help you for road racing.....you need some suspension travel to make the tight turns or you'll end up sliding all over the place. the energy generated by the car going at speed into a turn needs to go somewhere......that's why the suspension is there......if that energy can't be absorbed by the suspension then it must be absorbed by the tires.....and they can't do it.
