quick question
hey guys....i have a 97 gt, automatic....all of my mods are in my sig. I have pretty much every bolt on you can do, so i think im going to purchase the PI head/intake swap from http://www.parkwayperformance.com/2vheadswap.asp . While getting that i figured i might as well get a vt stage 1 cam. How much hp do you think i will gain to the wheels from the heads/intake/cam?? Of course after these mods i will get a dyno tune and found out my exact numbers, but could you give me some estimates as to what my car will put out includeing my current mods?? thanks

is that including the heads/cam/intake?? Because just from that alone i was hoping around 95-110 hp...

not without a more agressive cam, valves, springs head porting full bolt ons etc... it's tough to make 300 N/A with 281 cubes through an auto.

RE: quick question
well i basically do have full bolt ons...is there anything else that you can think of that i haven't done yet??? I am also thinking of porting and polishing the heads, how much hp will this give me??

RE: quick question
for the heads? a full port and polish, (220/190 flow rates) a VERY aggresive cam, like a comp 278 like i have, (you will need a high stall) a ported bullit manifold, 30 lbd injectors, 100 octane and a good tune.
your money is better spent on a nice stall, suspension and tires. that power won't make you as fast from a stop as a killer suspension/stall/tire setup would. some of the guys in 2V's running deep into the 12's use autos and make in the 280-290 hp range.

RE: quick question
okay...thanks for the help....i think all im going to do is get the stock pi heads/intake/and a vt stage 1 cam. The car has enough power the way it is, and these mods should make a world of a difference. And after that a good dyno tune should get even more out of the car

i'd do that and throw in some supporting mods to the drivetrain and suspension to help with the extra power. you can have a mean stoplight monster pulling 1.7 or better 60's and low 13 or high 12 times.

RE: quick question
Check out Fox Lake's package with the P-51 intake. The following is right off their web-site:
"Our final test scheduled will involve our Fox Lake Stage 2 CNC 2V ported cylinder heads. With our complete package, a good flowing exhaust system and a 75 mm throttle body, customers should realize a 175 hp gain over a stock 4.6 2V baseline! For example, a stock '98 4.6 2V will make approximately 180 rwhp, add Fox Lake CNC PI heads, street cams, and a P-51 intake and expect 300-320 rwhp. Add more aggressive race cams and expect 330-350 rwhp! A gain of up to 160-180 rwhp can be easily achieved. "
Hope this helps, I am not sure how much you want to spend and what you are looking for as far as power goes.

RE: quick question
what are some drivetrain/suspension mods that you recommend doing. The only suspension mods i have sitting at my house is kyb shocks/struts (haven't had the time to put them on yet)...but what other suspension and drivetrain mods would you recommend for my car???
