I just looked at your pics, your freaking hood scoop is awesome no kidding. It gives the car more lines. Remember the 96 cobra that had like 2 circles one on each side for hood scoop? Sorry but thats ugly.

i hate my hood scoop! wanna take it off!

nah, im serious, i hate mine, i want it to burn in the depths of hell. but i dont have money for a body shop to fill the dozen little holes and paint it.

i like the:
03 04 cobra one
v6 mustang one(just like GT but no scoop)
and steeda cowl
but i would not put a cowl hood on my car, it would not look good with my theme.

Aren't you worried about all the water you are gonna be throwing in there when it rains. I'm a worrier so maybe there is no problem.
When you think about it your engine is like 500 degrees and those tiny lil holes will only allow lil drops of water before they can even touch the engine they will evaporate so... no.

it's a cool idea.....but that looks like ****. why don't you just take it out completely?
Rocks, Random stuff flying up + Massive amounts of water. I dont want that in my engine.

Is there acutally a hole in the hood for the scoop or did ou cut a hole?
I cut my hole about 45 minutes with a dremel tool. Dremeled out all of those lil tiny holes in the hoodscoop grille. then a big hole in the hood + heatshield. Wasn't that bad.

Now honestly, what good did drilling a hole in your hood do except weaken it structurally? Im sure you didnt cure/seal the edges where you cut it,and did you do custom duct work to send the air into the CAI? It's a pointless, useless mod unless you make it worthwhile, and frankly, that isnt worthwhile. I dont quite think you're engine is 500 degrees when its sitting overnight in a rainstorm.... you DO know that your engine isnt entirely water/rust proof? I mean come on, it's kinda dumb. Sorry.

um ok. my engine hasnt had any problems yet... and if it does break down and get rusty ill just buy a new one. isnt your shaker hood also at risk of water in your engine?...

i love the saleen hood. i think it looks sexy. i want to buy one but i was thinking that if im out or im driving and its raining then water can get in. im not sure where the saleen hood would drop the water onto the engine but thats the only reason im hesitating on buying one.

rbstang i wouldnt cut a hole in my hood but thats just me. if you like it and it works for you then great, thats all that really matters. i want to build my car like a saleen and some people will say tats stupid because its not a real saleen but who cares. its my car...ill do what i want with it

Can you just add the 01+ hood scoop over the 99-00? Or is there bodywork involved?
