Default 4.6 vs 5.0

Ok guys really which is better stock and which is better modded. My buddy has a 89 5.0 ho and he says he can smoke my 96gt . What does a 1996 gt run in the 1/4 stock. My buds 5.0 ran a 17.8 at 88mph. Both cars are automatics. Aint that perty slow for a 5.0

Real slow.... for a 5.0 that is

I bet he told you that to give you a false sense of confidence...

But if his time is really 17.8, you should smoke him with a 96 wich if stock and running correctly should be in the low 15s.

Actually, you might be able to beat him with a mini van with that time slip...

With a 96 probally mid to high 15's. That's not modded at all. The 5.0 has more potential and is easier to find parts for, but I personally like the 4.6 better.

it's probably a driver's race. you have about the same power. 5.0 is better than anything for modding, cause they are so cheap. more responsive per dollar

He probably just took 5.0 badges and stuck it on his car to make himself feel better. I bet he has a 6cyl or possibly even a 4cyl

You're probally right. I actually saw a ford focus (4 cylinder) run a 17.9
