Default Gears - Gas

Would putting 3.73 gears in my stang effect my gas mileage? That was the only worry I had about installing the gears.

I have 3:73's and it doesnt afftect gas milage too much, and if you plan on getting a supercharger in the future get 3:73's and if not then go with 4:10's

Seriously...if I had 13 cents for ever thread about the black GTR guy or gears, I would have over 6 dollars by now.

Get at least the 4.10`s and be done (FRPP`s) Even if you get a S/C you will be fine. I know guys running 4.10`s that have a S/C and they arent complaining. Dont worry about the gas. Its not that bad.

Gas mileage wont differ that much. with 3.73 probly 0-1 mpg difference on the highway. 4:10 1-2 mpg difference highway. city will depend on how you drive, you have a possiblity of getting a little better mpg than with stock gears, but that depends on driving habbits

I was offered a truck to borrow because my relatives figured i would be getting about 12 mpg with my gears on the highway.

I have 3.73's in my 96 and I average about 22 mpg. As long as you don't have a lead foot, then gas mileage isn't going to take a total dump.
