what up guys? gonna change my trans fluid & filter this weekend. i'm assuming there is a drain plug for the torque converter so i can drain it. if not please let me know. anyway, how many quarts of fluid do i use? if i can drain the t.c., then how many quarts with that? thanks for the help.

Okay you owe me for this one. : ) I took this from Fords dealer shop manual and put it on the web for ya. I haven't done mine yet but probably will this summer. Not in any hurry though. This is what came up when I looked for a 2003. Don't know what your car is though.

Gasket is re-usable. Takes 4.5qts of MER-V and the filter is a NAPA number: ATP 1-8098

voodoo, i noticed in your sig you have 3.73 gears. i have 3.27 in my 98. is there a big diff. in the 3.73? was thinking about putting that in my 98.

Well I'll tell ya we've been arguing about gears back and forth alot lately. Seems like most people are leaning toward 4.10 but I definitely don't need anymore gear in my car cuz unless my tires are heated up and I floor it they just redline spinning. I would say this, if you want to go toward the higher end try the 4.10's if not, try the 3.73's. I personally think it's best to try the lesser instead of going ***** out right away. You may decide the 3.73's aren't enough though like many others. You should feel the 4.10's more but I didn't mind the stock gears either. Flip a coin. There's tons of info on this site if you search for it and even more opinions.
