Default What to do

I have a 2001 Ford Mustang GT. Automatic, which I like cause of the traffic here where I live, constant stop and go. Anyways, all I have is a K&N filter and 1 chamber flowmaster mufflers, with a mac o/r h-pipe sitting at the house. 1)Is it worth buying a true cold air intake or short ram intake, or just a filter do just fine? Plus I like the look of the whole intake system. 2)Does the auto do just fine with bolt on's and a nice suspension setup or would a shift kit help out dramatically along with a 3000 stall converter? I just dont wanna go and throw money away for something that should be last on my list. Other than that I wanna get a 70mm t/b and plenum from Accufab, along with mac lt's, and slp lm1's, UDP's, DR's, and a nice suspension setup. I wanna run low 8's in the 1/8 since thats all I have around here. Help me out please!!!!!!!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE dont forget gears. Shift kit, 4.10's, and tires will have you in the the mid-high 8's. Full exhaust and full intake and suspenions will have not problem getting you to the low 8's. Hell maybe suspension, gears, shift kit, and tires could get you there. Depends on track conditions, altitude weather and so on. Good luck, AND DONT FORGET THE GEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey you know what? I'm a dumb ***, how could I forget gears. And yes I know I'm gonna go with 4.10's. I know a guy with a 99GT with a hell of suspension, intake and exhaust with DR's running 12's in the 1/4. One bad *** car, now I think he runs 11's, but not sure. Anyways, I hope to have all this done by summer, but you never know how things could go.

Hey Diver, how much did that shift kit help out and where did you get it? My bolt on's are gonna include, headers, o/r h-pipe, catback exhaust, cai, 70mm t/b and plenum from Accufab, 4.10 gears, h&r springs, tokico shocks, tein struts, c/c plates, DR's and Diablo tuner.

Do the cold air kit. You'll notice minimal gains but with other intake mods it'll help out more and more as you mod. Also 4:10's, Shift Kit and Stall will throw you i the mid-high 13's w/ DR's.

Forget the CAI, not worth the money unless you get a super deal on it.

Spend your money on gears, or start saving for gears.

Thanks 2K1gt, I just hope where you live and I live isnt a big difference in times. I live in Northern TN. Anyways the mods you have are the first mods I'm gonna get, after Christmas I'll have the exhaust, w/o/r hpipe and hopefully cai. Then gears by March or so (thats my birthday), nice times with an auto. After gears and maybe a t/b and plenum, I'll go for the suspension and DR's for the summer time.
