Default Hypertech chip ?

Im going to be installing a hypertech chip that i had purchased in my car, the instructions that i recieved with it were kind of vague so is there anything i should know besides unhooking the battery during the install and using 93 octane for the gas? Do i have to run a colder thermostat with the chip or will it be ok with the stock one?

you should be fine unless the tune on the chip is odd.

like if it were tuned for a lower thermostat. you should be fine if the tune on the chip matches your mods.

DO NOT INSTALL THE HYPERTECH CHIP WITHOUT HE HYPERTECH 160 Degree THERMOSTAT. I did this... got massive amounts of Pinging or Detonation. The 160 degree thermostat cools the a/f charge leading to increased power.

Yes the chip advances the timing so much that a lower thermostat is needed to keep the A/F Charge cool.
