Default why not 3.90's?

Why doesnt anyone ever get 3.90's? is it because if your going to get those you might as well just get 4.10's? I think i have a better chance at getting 3.90's than 4.10's because my dad had 4.11's in his chevelle and hated them so i think he might let me get 3.90's is that a bad idea? Any help is appreciated...

Thanks Brian

People seem to not get 3.90s because FRPP does not make one. I know Motive does, but some people complain about Motive gears making alot of noise. I have never used them so I dont know for sure.

because you might as well suck it up and take the extra whopping 100rpm hit and get 4.20s.

hahaha.. get some DRs and you MIGHT. control arms aren't going to give you better traction, they'll help with the hippity hop when you're changing gears though.

Unless your getting a blower then 4.10s wont give you any traction troubles....

that depends on the blower. centrifugal, 4.10s all the way. twin screw/roots, 3.73.

I am getting 3.90's, the reason why is because my stepbrother has 4.10's in his car and I just don't like em.. and my best friend had 3.73 and I want a lil more umph... so I just am goin right in the middle... as far as motives, i've heard good things about them, I have actually heard a lot of negative things about the Ford Racing gears holding up, so I think it's one of those "can't please everyone" things... It's just a matter of opinion I guess...
