Default Question about Mach 460?

This may sound stupid but my radio (02 GT, Mach 460) keeps going to the to the balance mode and then chages the balance to the right. It does it while I'm driving and only some of the time but just about everytime I drive. I move it back and a short time later it does it again. Any idea whats going on and how to fix it? Can it be fixed? Any help will greatly be appriciated.

I posted this on the Radio fourm; however, not too many people visit there and I know you guys are very knowledgeable.

sounds like something may be shorted, or maybe a fuse somewhere? check all the fuses (not sure which ones if any are set for the mach)... or bring it to the local dealer, if all else fails I might be able to sell ya my 6cd changer 460mach... i rpelaced mine with a/m alpine cda-9851; but my wife wants me to git the 460mach headunit into her car( 01 taurus)

Your best bet is to wait it out and save some money for a new stereo. Preferably aftermarket. Is the car still under warranty?

Yes it's under warranty (aftermarket warranty so I have to check if is covered). How much for your 460? Do you think spraying the buttons with some type of computer cleaner might help?

that's really weird man. Try and clean it out and if that doesn't work take it in. I have never heard of anything like that happening to any kind of radio.

The 460 mach changer is built into the head unit... and I'd say around $75 + s/h.... That goes for whoever needs it :-p My wife has decided I don't need it for her car, cause I need to buy a $150 replacement part b/c ford made her radio integrated with a/c controls... what douches.... anyway, let me know

Is that the whole radio? I am not to knowledgeable about car radios. I may need to replace mine as it keeps doing the little annoying trick. Will it just plug and play with mine? I ahve an 02 GT.

if the 6-disk changer is built into the head unit then how would you put the 6 disks it?
