ORIGINAL: Tim37

most people don't know this but a fully build set of non pi heads can be just as good as a set of built pi heads (ya just got to find some one who knows how to biuld them.)

so you could look in to haveing a pp job done onyour heads then a supercharger too.
+1, or skip the PI BS and get a set of patriot heads some VT stage II cams and a P51 intake and call it a day! You can easily pull 75 horses out of that after some exhaust work (which you would need with a s/c too).

Well...its not really going to save you any money

They were comparing P&P'd heads....so you would still have to cough up the dough for that. Because no matter what, pi's are better than npi's stock. BUT P&P npi's outflow PI's. So depending on how much the P&P job runs you, you might save some money compared to buying all new heads.

I always thought that P&P PI's outflowed P&P npis.....so the thought of pulling out NPI's to P&P them seemed dumb....might as well just buy some used PI once for like $300 and P&P them.

Acer, where you at on this one?

I read a magazine like that too it was either mm&ff or 5.0, I don't have it but I read the artical while old girl was shopping. The non-pi heads do flow better than the pi heads. but in the artical I read they had a very good motorcycle shop do the head work because of the small ports. The non-pi heads came out very good, flowing a little more cfm's than pi P&P heads. they claimed they would be even better with some cams they were planning on installing.

I don't remember all the numbers but i think they got to 260-270 hp(more than a pi stock car) from head work, full exhaust, pulleys, and all the intake bolt on's.

With a set of cams and then a blower, you could put down impressive numbers, if you had all that type of work done. But then again you probally can't find a shop who would really get those heads to flow that well.

My .02 is to do a P&P pi swap w/ cams and spray the thing.
<Then when it die build the bottom end to hold a 300 shot and turn some heads.>

That's just my .02 my dream car would sound and look stock but would let my spray 300 horses on it safely. (talk about a sleeper.lol)

oh yeah i can see that. it really matters who does the p&p and i imagine that the difference isnt that much so i figure since they would be close, just get the stock npi heads p&p to save money from buying a new set of heads and intake and all the extra parts that are needed. so id say s/c the p&p npi motor because you dont have the higher compression ratio of a pi swapped npi motor. or at least thats what id do

Whichever you want to do. Get a supercharger for all the time power. PI swap with some cams and throw nitrous on top of it because of the added compression. It is your choice on how you want to make your car. Probably looking to be close to the same in the end.
