Default Difference between new CAMS and PI SWAP

I found an auction on ebay for a PI swap kit but I am looking for the relatively cheap internal engine upgrades before I blow my engine with a centrifugal S/C later on in the year.

Is this the kit you would need for a PI Swap? Also would stage 1 cams be included in comething like this?

Nevermind, I feel like an idiot. If I want to S/C it it would be pointless to do a PI head swap. Just looked over some old posts and answered my own question. [&:]

My next question is should you put in stage 1 cams before you S/C a 4.6..............or no internal prep engine work is needed for adding a centrifugal S/C ?

Okay well what if I wasn't looking for a boost that high from 8 to 10 psi, what if I only wanted to boost around 6 or 7psi?

Would I still need to get a blower CAM to be sure I am safe because it will be S/C?

See after I am S/C and add bolt ons and upgrades around 300HP is fine with me I live in the city and I won't be racing it.

Anybody have suggestions? (I know most of you guys are looking for 350+ Horses)

the 96-98 has less compression so you should be fine with that boost level. I don't have a blower though, i just read that in a book. I think with a blower and long tube headers and a midpipe and catback you should definately reach your goal. if you get a cam you would have more power but you can always do that later. my advice is just buy a supercharger kit that comes with everything you need.

The smart/cheapest thing to do to make 300-350 rwhp on the npi engine with around 6-8 psi would be rather then doing a full headswap, just put in a set of pi cams(around $50-100) and then put a pi intake($50-100 used, $200 new) on what you have now. If you want a little more potential out of your engine you could always have the npi heads worked over, but I dont think it will be too tough to get 300+ rwhp out of 6-8 psi with pi cams and a pi intake.

So I am assuming since no one said anything different to this then putting pi cams into npi heads is fine, right guys?
