It sounds to me like they didn't install it properly. I highly doubt the TB shattered the fork. If the clutch wasn't the correct size, or if it was installed incorrectly, it is possible the fork was rubbing on the pressure plate at full disengagment. The entire time, the noise has been from the TB, but the scraping sounds you heard were very possibly from the fork touching the pressure plate or something else in the bellhousing. Take it back in and have them look at where the ball end of the fork is at full depression of the clutch pedal. They'll be able to see if its rubbing anything. -And they should have seen that before they originally gave it to you, and also noticed it on the short test drive of your car.
i have just under 100k, i bought the tranny off ebay, it has 27k and i saw the documents to prove it. it shifts perfectly, its just the clutch that is acting strange.
I'm tellin ya, what is probably happening is the ball on the end of the fork is rubbing somewhere. Have you brought it back to the shop that installed it?
yea i did, and they sware up and down its the clutch components failing
Did they confirm the rubbing inside the bellhousing? They should be able to tell you what is wrong. They are being too general with you. Find out exactly what part is 'failing', according to them. I doubt any parts have failed, but they might soon if you don't figure out what the problem is. Don't let this shop jack you around. If they claim the 'clutch components' are failing, have them show you exactly what part(s) is failing. I doubt they'll be able to. Are they standing behind their work? Ask THEM that.
