Default Replacement Headlight Bulbs

I'd like to replace the regular Halogen bulbs with something whiter/brighter. Sylvania has Cool Blue (3500K) and Silverstar (4000K) halogen bulbs.
Have any of you used one of these (or some of the cheaper ones on Ebay)?
Comments and discussion - please.

They look really nice, but I don't want to spend the bucks on the full HID set (harnesses, etc.)
anyone gone the less expensive route of just the whiter bulbs?

JonBeast,
Is there a good online place to get the Silverstars for around $30?
The best I have found so far is $50 for a pair.

your local wal-mart has the set of 9007 silverstars for around $38
they are much brighter than stock halogen bulbs , but not as bright as HID.
Good upgrade for the price. hope this helps

dobry,
I guess I hadn't thought about Wal-Mart.
For around $38, I can't go wrong in trying them.
Thanks.

Get the HID's and get it over with. You'll never thank us enough. Both my cars have HID's and I will NEVER drive another car without them. And a kit with Hella ballasts for $300???? That's dirt cheap! Safe night driving is worth every penny to me. I never hit stuff in the road that I can't see, like potholes and rocks and stuff. Its a lot of money, but well worth it.
