RE: Very Unhappy With Gears
a tuner cant recalibrate your speedo for your year, we need the speedo gear. if he had 3.73s or 4.10s in it before then his speedo wouldnt be that far off id think. you oughtta be taking it easy after a fresh install anyway man. goodluck

if the speedo say 85 and you are running 55, then u musta got a hold of some 4:56's or something. That wayyyyyyyy to high. if you cant feel the gears, maybe u need to get on a dyno and see if ur car is making the right amount of power.
In my GT (with 3.73) I could not just be running along in 2nd and blow the tires off of it. And I have more power than you. Its not nitrous, ur not gonna feel 3g's when you accelerate, but damnit you can feel it for sure.

most companys dont make a speed cal for a 96 mustang, What is this 12 plastic gear u speak off? I really need to ge my car back on track, im adding way to many undriven miles to my odometer
thanks for your help
by the way, i have 3.73 gears and for every 10 mph my sppedo is off by 1mph, so if my speedo says 60 im really gooin aout 54, tends to be pretty close

I burn out easily in the 1st and 2nd gears with 4.10's
Rev up to 4000 rpm, let go of the clutch half way, watch out for the surrounding buildings, people, and light posts
ok, on the second thought, don't!!!

i dont know why your judging your car by if it can break loose or not, and spin the wheels. does not make sence to me[&:]. judge the new gears by how hard it pulls.
who gives a rats *** if it can break loose or spin the wheels. how fast it can pull thru the gears is what really counts.

judge the new gears by how hard it pulls
Put the car in second, drive slowly to about 2500 rpms,,, hold it for just a second,, and hammer it,, pulls SO hard in 2nd and 3rd now compared to before!

1.5*55~82.5
He's about right with that assumption as long as the original gears were what was replaced.
