Overdrive off

RE: Overdrive off
I just filled up this morning, so I'll probably be filling up again on Tuesday or so. I drive to work, back home and then to my g/f's house. About 40 miles or so daily. I tend to only get between 16-17 mpg. Which is about 200-220 miles per fillup. I seems bad, but not as bad as my old car and it was a 4 banger.

RE: Overdrive off
Why would you even turn it off for a race??? It does nothing to have it turned off except it will never shift into O/D. It doesn't make it any faster or anything. That makes no sense to me to want to drive at 4k rpms. H pipes sound better at lower rpms. If you like high rpms get an x pipe, they sound better at higher rpms than h's. Or better yet I'd say get a civic or something if you like to keep the engine wound up like that.

i could be wrong, but wouldnt that keep you at a higher rpm where you have more power? also i think each shift adds a tenth of a second, so thats one less shift in the 1/4 mile

You dont shift out of 3rd in the 1/4 so it doesnt matter. When I take my car to the track im going 100 in 3rd when I cross the line.
