Offer 3-4k for it and see if they will take it.

It might run for another 200 miles, maybe even 40,000 miles! It's all about how well it was taken care of. Sounds like a project car..

Tim...I thought you said you were going to stop modding your car and save for college [8D]

Now you wanna buy another one??

I agree with dan....depending on how it was taken care of.....its been sitting for a while....so, its gonna take some work.

Just a stock replacement shortblock? The SOHC/DOHC shortblocks at the same, although I believe that year Cobra is aluminum?

It shouldn't be anymore than $3,000 for a stock replacement.

The Cobra does have an aluminum block and a short block would run $2,000 but it would come with forged internals. Everyone above answered the question. It could last awhile then again it could be junk. You need money to fix it up and it won't be that cheap. Not many in the junk yard know what I mean? A fair price for the car you mentioned is still around $5,000 but that's running and ok condition. Offer far less and you might be able to clean it up and make a profit but thats always risky. My bet is there is something wrong with the car and its worth parts. Good luck!

unless you are able to get both cobras for 5k together, and know how to do the work yourself (engine, body) then i wouldn't bother. you can find them for about 8k up in good condition
