Default Shocks/Struts

I did just lower my car by almost 2" but I did not chance the shocks/struts as of yet. What kind of shocks/struts you guys run on your lowered gt and what was the experience with it?

You can do aftermarket, but they're kinda expensive...or a cheaper alternative is using fox body shocks/struts from off a 93 stang. You can pick em up at any parts store. I haven't used them personally, but i do plan on going that route whenever i do lowering springs. I've seen where some people on the forum has them, maybe they can chime in.

I just installed H&R supersport springs (2" front, 1.6" rear) and I installed 93 GT Gabriel shocks/struts as well...they were $100 for all4.

They work great, and they are excellent for people on a tight budget.

I also have the H&R springs and I opted for the Monroe Sensitrack shocks/struts for a 93 GT. Cost me $191.XX from Advanced Auto. I love them, great smooth ride.

The car part store I order my parts from mentions that a I may require a "Ak27 Kit" for front struts. Did you need that for your car?

Yeah I'm in the same boat too! I'm on a tight budget and I need more info about the Fox Body set up! JonBeast or Emann hook us up!

I didn't get any kit.... the front struts come with spacers because the mounts on the 93GT's are wider. I bought just the Monroe Sensitrack shocks and struts and it rides better than stock IMO. It's very smooth. I would highly recommend them over say a KYB or other more expensive aftermarket set if your budget is tight. Just go to Advanced Auto and ask for 93GT shocks and struts, you can choose between the Monroe's or Gabriels. The Gabriels are cheaper. Any questions, shoot me or JonBeast a PM, we have nearly identical suspension setups.
