Default Crate Engine

So I blew my stock 4.6 engine about a month ago. So im deciding between dropping in a new stock motor, jasper rebuilt motor, but i would really like to drop in an engine with more power then the stock 4.6, the only thing is I dont know jack about crate engines. If you were in my spot what would you do??? and I would really like to go with a more powerful engine.

how much do you have to spend?

You can always buy a dsm or vt forged shortblock with forged internals and high flowing heads ready to handle large amounts of power, but the motors themselves are too pocketbook friendly.

check around. I am partial to VT, but Livernois or DSS wouldbe a good choice. Just figure out exactly what you want and how much $$ you want to spend.

If I where you, I would buy a Mach 1 crate motor. Its like $5700. it comes with the wiring harness, and complete motor and sensors. Just swap it. 305hp, and 320 lb ft. four valve motors just have more potential.

here ya go bud, http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tKeyField=6188 ok so maybe something more reasonable would be a built 351 that would actually fit in your engine bay. but they got some nice crate motors there.

03/04 cobra engine. You may be able to find a wrecked cobra with a good drivetrain for 8k-10k.

if you can find an 03-04 cobra for that kind of price that's the way to go.......but it's unlikely. if you are going to have to put a new engine in there there is no reason to put in a 2v motor........get the mach 1 crate.......or maybe even the 05+ 3v 4.6.....people are getting insane power out of those.

I have a KCR crate engine, $4,200 for 375hp/375 torque. Worked great so far with the vortech.
