Is this kit come with the bearings I need?? Are there any other stupid things I will need to install them?? Also, does this seem like a good deal?? Thanks, Kyle
No it doesnt come with bearings. You will have to buy this. http://mustangtuning.com/rearendrebuild.html You need a new pinion bearing, because the old one is pressed on the old pinion gear and removing it would damage the bearing. I asked ford how much for the pinion bearing and he said $75 and thats not including the bearing race. So your better of getting the whole kit while your at it, since its the same price as just the one bearing. It includeds everything you will need to do that install if you buy that bearing kit in addition. The cheaper install kit that they offer for $35 is not what you want, that doesnt have the bearings in it.

Alright aiextreme, I appreciate it. So I get that 4:10 kit, with the speedo calibrator, which will work on my car right?? (I have an 03 5spd GT). The royal purple oil and that bearing kit for 8.8 rear end will all I need for a succesffull install?? Also, whats a good price for the install on these bad boys??

You really don't need to go crazy on the bearing kit seeing the car is an 03 and if it ahs under 36000 there is no need to spend the extra cake on bearings.

Make sure you get a nice quaility fluid.

And be warned that the gears will skew your dyno results a bit.

I dynoed my car and put down 245 with 4.10s. The guy who did the dyno pulls also did the install on the gears and he said that the car probably would put down over 250 if it were stock gearing. It's hard to explain why it is that way, jsut know that it is.

ive heard anywhere from 200- 400. Me personally, im pricing right and the lowest around me is 200-250 w/ gears installed and bearing kit. Call around, its the only way to find out.

God, gears aren't as cheap as I thought they would be altogether. I thought about order gears and a tb and plenum. But maybe I'll just go with gears for now. Do you guys think I should get the bearing kit now just to be safe? My car has 31k, and its an 03. I don't usually go cheap, I'd rather be safe than sorry. Thanks, Kyle

yes, bearing kit! 60-70 bux is not all that bad, knowing the rear end will be in top shape. Kind of the, as long as its out kind of thing. Cheap insurance....

When I was first pricing for gears I was getting quotes around 500 not including the gears.

It took a couple of months but I got I found a guy that did the gears for 260 and they were done right. I watched the whole thing and the rear end was set-up perfectly.
