I want 300rwhp? What do i need?
Okay, i recently posted a thread about wanting to do something else to my car, and i came to the conclusion that i am prolly gonna get a tuner and/or a chip (that is if you can have both). I am at 286.xx rwhp/302.xx rwtq.
I want 300rwhp. If i can get that, i will be happy (for a while)
Granted last time i had the car on a dyno it was 80*+. With over 70% humidity. I plan on getting it dynoed again here soon while the temps are cooler and the humidity is lower. I am hoping for atleast like 288-290 rwhp with better conditions.
BUT!!I doubt the chip/tuner will give me 10rwhp but it is worth a shot.
you guys got any ideas (other than NOS?)

Cams would put you over that.
My tuner was worth 15rwhp. I am using 93octane now though. Um bigger throttle body and CAI, Longtube headers, high flow cats. Under drive pullies.

I looked at your dyno chart. Cams would deffinitly keep that line straight rather that leveling off at 5500rpm. You get liek 310rwhp or more. Also I heard that if you disconnect that ram air tube and just put in a nice CAI you would gain horsepower.

im sure with cat-back exhaust and tuner it would be easy to reach. there is another thing you can do. on your intake tube there is a resinator(a box looking thing between the airbox and TB) take that off and plug the hole. and then take off your air/silenser that goes into the fender from the airbox(rubber like piece) which will leave a hole on the side of your airbox open then cut that hole a little bigger underneath the airbox. then get a K&N drop in filter for your car and hook up the factory style ram air and ur done. its just as good or even better than most coldair kits and looks stock. its a cheap system to make. anymore questions pm me.

From what I have heard, a Mach 1 doesn't get much from a tuner. SCT have said this on their message boards. A guy there got bad results and the SCT guys told him, that is because MACH 1s come from the factory with an agressive tune already. Also they have a knock sensor which will just pull any more of an advance in timing you try to tune in. So I would say just a tuner wouldn't look good, but a tuner with a custom tune for your new cams well thats more like it!

3.73 or 4.10 wont get him 300whp. your best bet for the money would be a ron anderson powerpipe or the C&L cold air. purchase that and then redyno. i believe you already have full exhaust correct

I know it wont get him 300, and i guess that is what the thread is about. I just wanted to say that i would get gears then shoot for 300. I also forgot that the machs have 355s. A CAI of some sort should help a lot.
