Default window motor

Well i pulled into work, put my window up and that night it would come down and wouldn't since. I can hear a "click" towards the bottom left of the door(drivers side) when i try to bring it down.
Do motors just crap out like that with-out skowky dieing?
Second I called some auto parts places and they told me that i have to pull the motor before they order one. Apparantly it could have either the drivers side or passengers side motor in it. I thought that sounded wierd.

Just FYI Ford wanted $147 for the motor and an auto parts store wanted $50 plus $15 core charge.

The window itself may be off track, i know in my 01 i had so much trouble with the windows comming off track. take off the door panel and check it out.

I will check that.
The window does not move, meanning it has not fallen down or anything, if that helps.
