Default max horsepower

I no very little about 4.6L's so here comes some questions for you. How much horsepower can a 4.6L block handle and how much horsepower could I resonably make with a turbo on one? What else would I have to add to handle that turbo? How hard is it to swap in a bigger motor? How much money would it probably cost?

The main reason i have not been looking into a 4.6L is I don't think that they can make that much horsepower. I have maily been looking into getting a SN-95 and putting in a 351W and turboing it down the road. I didn't think I could make near that horsepower with a 4.6L without some serious mods which I don't really want to do so should i even think of looking into getting a 4.6L at all for the hp #'s i would be looking at.

P.S.- I am going to be using this motor for a daily driver.

if you are looking into forced induction get the 4.6l supercharger 4valve motor. they readily except mods and hold a lot of power. not sure on an exact number, but there are 700hp daily drivers running around so how much power are you looking for?

probably around 400 on tap but if I turn up the boost on the turbo then around 650-700 hp.

from what my buddy told me (he's a ford mechanic) the block will hold upwards of a 1000fwhp, but the internals go long before that, around 450 fwhp max if its a daily driver is pushing it.

U mean Rwhp. fwhp means front wheel horsepower. The block is pretty damn strong. Its the internals, (rods in particular), that will go around 450Rwhp. Get all ur shat forged and you can pretty much make as much power as u want. Then comes the problem of fuel, spark, Tranny, rear end. Get a TKO transmission and all that rear end stuff. Fuel pump, injectors, MAFThats pretty much it. Intake mani, exhuast, heads and cams will be needed for see full potential.

yes your right rear wheel hp, I was also thinking fwhp meant fly-wheel. though when my buddy gave me those numbers he didn't say fly-wheel or rear wheel, however I'm guessing he meant RWHP.

everything gets more expensive with DOHC remember that. You should just forge a SOHC 4.6 and get a TKO tranny then you'll be set to do w/e
