RE: 98' Supercharged Cobra or '03?
I have the money for the supercharger now but I will have to wait a couple years for the 03....and i'm unpatient when it comes to cars...but I heard it is worth it though. My 98 supercharged will be faster than the 03 though right?

I was thinking about it and I'm pretty sure you'd be better off building up your 98.
First, for about $1200 you can get all the parts you need: rods, pistons, rings, locks, and wristpins. This will make your engine as strong as an 03/04 cobra but better and this is why: Your block is over 45 lbs lighter but still very strong. Ford discontinued that "teksid" block after 98 because of cost but it's the block of choice for many engine builders. It's quite a bit stronger than the aluminum blocks used in 99, 01 cobras and 03/04 machs.
Second, it's cheaper to build up a non-IRS rear. IRS is worse for both drag and track racing as well as autocross. Even a fully built up IRS isn't better than a built posi rear and the posi rear is over 50 lbs lighter.
It would be cheaper in the long run to build up your 98 snake into an 03 cobra killer (even an 03 Kenne Bell cobra killer) but you've got to decide whether it's worthwhile for you.
Also, before you do any forging, you can still get your 98 (with a supercharger) to run with bolt-on 03s that have mild pulley swaps.
