i think a handheld tuner would be best bang fo the buck, if your cars an auto a tuner is must to firm up the shifts. also down the road the tuner will still be usefull when you do other mods. forget the chip the tuner does the same but much more!! if you can install the gears yourself youc could gears too that's my next mod. good luck

Yeah, get the tuner and 4.10`s. You will see a big difference. You will need a little more than $400. Click on this tuner/gear package deal. http://www.mustangtuning.com/predato...r-oil-kit.html

A tuner would probably be one of the better things to get, but you will spend all of your money on just that.

For the same price you can get a nice CAI and Underdrive pulleys (3 set)

Or you could get Long tube headers to liven up that exhaust all the way and get a nice CAI. Granted the LT's will be about $500 you can still find a nice CAI out there for about $100 buxish

Another thing you could do is liven up your rear end with an Auburn Torsen diff with 4.11 gearing and a CAI.

There are alot of things you can do, I personally see a CAI and LT's being great for your car because you have already taken care of the exhaust. After that finish up the bolt ons and get the tuner with a Custom Diablo tune at the end.

Just my opinion.

Just FYI, on a pre pi car it is virtually useless to play with the intake bolton stuff (MAF to plenum). The car simply cannot move enough air to take advantage of the better flow offered by the aftermarket stuff.

With 400 bucks to spend, I would either get a set of gears installed, or save it for a PI swap later on.

BTW, if you can do it yourself (it is no easy task) for 550 you can get a nice set of cams. That should put you pretty close to stock 99+ teritory.
