Im biased.. go with the cobra. As long as there is nothing major wrong with it (you defintaly want a mechanic to look at it), you will not regret it. There is no comparison if your looking for power/drive experience between the 2. The 4v vs the 2v non PI is just a no brainer if your going ***** out racing in it, and that vert just looks clean as hell.

I have owned both so i feel that i will be able to help you here. My 96 gt had UDPs, flows, and K&N. It was a fun car, but after having the cobra i could never go back to the underpowered GT. the GT feels real strong in till about 4500, then it is a dog. The cobra will lay you in you seat from 3000 on up.

COBRA, COBRA, COBRA Trust me you will be happy.

i say cobra but dont pay that much. ive heard from a car salesmen that you should go the last couple days of the month because they are trying to meet a quota each month and they will sell stuff cheaper so they will reach it.
You would be somewhat correct. It's always best to buy a car at the end of the month, bc mainly taxes. If the dealership keeps the car extending into the next month, they have to pay taxes on it to be on their lot. If they can get rid of the car before then, they can lower the price b/c if they dont they have to pay taxes on it which basically evens out the price anyways.

Go with the Cobra! Why is there a question? 115K vs 65K is nothing to these modern engines. The Cobra could run better than the GT! The mileage does not matter quite so much as long as the maint. was done. By the way, the 97 comes with the Aluminum 4.6 32V engine. That engine block is good for about 1500 HP, the crank is forged, good for more than 1000 hp. The heads flow good, and can be ported to flow better. If you have any mechanincal skill and might even consider rebuilding the engine in the future, the Cobra comes with so many good parts already (except the freakin pistons and rods) that a rebuild and upgrade to it can produce significant HP with out needing to by an short or long block.

I agree, buy the Cobra or wait a little and pickup a 99+ GT. I picked up my '00 GT for $7900 with 61k miles on it.

I have a 96 cobra that is by far the most fun car I have ever owned. I have seen cobras go for 11k or more that are the same age as the one you have found, so you are def getting a deal. Buy the car, put some money into it and be happy you got a cool a$$ vert that is faster than most cars out on the road, plus, its a Cobra dude.

Not even a question. The cobra motor is a good strong motor so 115k isn't ridiculous, but you will have some other minor problems. If I couldn't get the Cobra for what i wanted I would hold out for a 99GT.
