Ok I am going to change the gear oil in my car since I just bought it with 61k miles on it and I dont know what sh*tty stuff is in there. My problem is that the owners manual says to run 80w-90 gear oil and I cant seem to find any good brands of 80w-90 gear oil. Mobil 1 only seems to make 75w-90 same thing with royal purple. Is it ok to just run the 75w-90 or should I go with a less name-brand oil and get 80w-90? Thanks

 

Yes you will be fine. Go with the royal purple or mobil 1. 75W90

You know whats fuked up. The pep boys and autozones and kragens by my house don't carry royal purple gear oil. They have royal purple engine and tranny fluid, but not gear oil... Bastards!

 

I only found one place in town that had the royal purple gear oil. they had one bottle of 75w90 and i needed the 75w140....
