I had 4.10's AND 4.30's and once you learn how to launch the car and find the sweet spot for launching on street tires, it'll be fine. Of course DR's are going to help buttloads...but they aren't required.

he's gonna be getting 700 dollars,,, how do you expect him to get a new set of rims for 700 dollars and mayby tires too since he'll most likely get bigger in back??

nevermind, i dont even think i can understand that

if i were you
i'd get a mid pipe, and a catback for sound and a tad of performance

and then, get a mach 1 chin spoiler and a grille delete for some front end looks

then, you get MUCH more attnetion and more people looking at you at the same time

My opinion is Gears (3.90 or 4.10) most people say if you have an auto to go 4.10 and nothing less... and I would get a tune.
i need a link for a tuner wid reasonable price plz...
i heard that a good tuner could add 20-25 hp ....is that true?

actually, a tuner wouldnt be that bad of an idea for you since ur an auto. It lets you adjust **** points and shift firmness. And on a stock GT, you would probably only add a few ponies without mods. But once you get more mods you will get more gains.

And does anybody know if the tuners only use premium now?

I know i was just stating thats where that number comes from. In all reality, you may see 8-12whp depending on you mods. And i believe most programmers have an 91+oct flash with them... you can get it to run off of a 87oct. tune but it wont have near the same effect.

I can't wait to get mine with my catless x pipe, hoping to see a decent gain.

+ what mafia said. You can change your shift pts. and firmness. a programmer for you would be an excellent idea, that and gears would make your car feel ALIVE!!!

theoretically, yes it will limit your possible top speed, but it more than likely wont limit the top speed your car is capable of. If you had enough power to redline 4th gear in your car, then yes 4.10s would put a top speed restriction on you. However since your car lacks the power to redline your top gear, you probably won't see any less in top speed, in fact, I have heard some people say that it can add to the top speed of the 96-98 mustangs because it shifts your powerband. One thing gears will put a restriction on however, is your highway gas mileage. If you plan on doing a lot of highway/freeway driving, you might want to consider high gears, possibly 3.73 or so. I know that for me, I couldnt get gears because my girlfriend lives 15 miles away from me, and I go to pick her up quite often. So until she gets her liscense and can drive herself, I am going to be keeping my stock gears. However on the other hand, if you plan on doing mostly city driving with lots of stop and go traffic, then gears will probably improve your mileage because your car's torque is being better utilized to get the heavy car moving. So I guess when you choose what mod/mods to do with your car it depends on what you really want whether it be looks/performance/sound/whatever. I suggest finding mods to make it your own, and you will find that mod-fever is very fun thing to catch.

--Have fun!
