i know another exhaust poll
I have a 97 gt with stock headers, off road x pipe and 2 chamber flowmasters, i was thinkign about getting a slp lm1 setup. Compared the my flows right now will the slp lm1 be noticably louder than the flowmasters

RE: i know another exhaust poll
I havent installed my LM1s yet but I can almost guarntee you it will be louder. I got flows on my 98 GT when I had it, it gave it a better tone IMO but wasnt even really much louder than stock. The LM1s are the loudest mufflers on the market I believe. I have heard to stay away from O/R Midpipes with them however. Supposedly an X pipe will give you less deep of a sound compared to an H pipe, but its all about preference.

I have LM1s with a bassani off road x pipe. I love it, my friends say its way too loud for the street. I like to drive my car and not be able to talk inside though.lol I love it.

You guys got it all wrong.
I had LM1's on my Stang w/ headers and a CATTED H-pipe. Nanaki and I have been saying it forever.
If you have a CATTED mid-pipe, go LM1
If you have an O/R mid-pipe, go LM2
The H-pipe is the way to go with the LM series. I think an O/R pipe with LM1's sounds like shaz, too loud, raspy, pops too much, etc.
I can honestly say after all my exhaust combos:
StockH: Stock catback, Flowmaster Catback, magnaflow catback
Magnaflow X: Flowmaster catback, magnaflow catback
Mac H: Magnaflow catback, SLP LM1 catback.
The Mac catted H/ SLP LM1 catback is the best I've had.

With the Magnaflow X and Flowmaster catback, how would you describe the sound?
Was the Magnaflow X catted or O/R?
I'm looking for a midpipe to go with my Flowmaster catback (bought the car used with catback on and someone has told me it was Flowmaster but not sure) but I don't want loud, just want some performance. Is that an oxymoron?
