Default 99 Mustang GT

Hi guys

I plan to buy a Mustang GT. i saw one here:
Red, 1999 Mustang GT, 260HP, 5Speed Manual, 87000miles for 9300 Dollars. The car is still stock. What do you think?? a good deal? And have the car 16" or 17" rims?

If i will buy the car: What are the best first mods? K&N Intake and a PRO 5.0 Short Shifter? What else? I will reach 300HP asap! =)

Thanks
Björn from Switzerland (Europe)

the price is a tad high for the mileage
it has 17" 5spoke wheels

if youre just looking to get to 300 flywheel, (that is, what the enginne produces, not what is delivered to the ground) a full exhaust and an intake will most likely get you there

however if you want 300 to the wheels, then you'll need full bolt ons and maybe cams to breeak the 300 mark

He won't get 300 to the flywheel with just that either. Rated at 260. Exhaust wont get you 40hp. That price is somewhat high. See if you can talk him down to 8-8500.

Borla exhaust sounds great, but u wont get 40hp at the flywheel from it or any other exhaust by itself.

ehh the price isn't too bad. thats just a listed price though so i am sure that guy expects to get talked down/ see if you can get it for 8 grand. the milage is high but its still a fairly new car that isn't your avergae taurus alot of what you pay for is the name Mustang.

also i wouldn't be worried about mods right off the bat. Usually when you buy a used car and especially one with high milage you should take care of breaks and all your fluids and make sure you get a tune up if the guy didn't get one. i think its at 75,000 miles or whatever. then you can start off basic such as exhuast, intake, pullies, tb + plenum and you should be well on your way. Gears are a great mod but don't know if you want to go in that direction or just want a few things to brag about. this is gonna sound dumb to alot but if you want a cheap car thats pretty quick right off the bat form the factory, i have seen a ton of 98 ls1 Z28 camaros going for pretty cheap around 8-9 grande with about the same milage. just gotta look around.

@DILO2001GT

OK, i will see if i can drop down the price... but for Switzerland it's cheap. But i think i can lower the price 1000USD because of the high mileage and i don't know what services he did. I will see when i go and look at the car.

I will change the gears to 4.10 and Speed Compensator. But first i will install a PRO 5.0 Short Shifter, a K&N Air Intake System and a Borla exhaust.

What do following things do:
Pullies
tb + plenum
????????????

I would think Plenum + T-Body + CAI + Long Tubes + Midpipe + Catback would be pretty close to 40 at the fly. If not, I'm willing to bet a tune would more than likely get you there.
