Default mustang tuning catless x-pipe...good or bad??

Well i saw mustang tuning makes a catless mandrel bent 2.5 xpipe for $164. I'm not really worried about the price, more along the design and effectiveness. Is anyone running these or have installed them? I'm running the magnaflow maganapack cat back now, and i'm not sure if it'll fit up properly.

I don't see why it wouldn't do the trick...

I guess if you have to cheap out on a part of your exhaust, the midpipe would be the one to do it on. Just watch out for rust, because I doubt it's stainless steel. As far as fitting goes, it probably won't give you any troubles because both your cat-back and the midpipe are built to factory specs. I have also heard from people that if you go with a cheap aftermarket catted midpipe, you will still throw a code, but that is just speculation as far as im concerned. And as far as performance, it will probably be the same as all the rest because theyre essentially the same thing.

Even if it's stainless steel it can still rust. It won't rust as quick, but it will eventually develop some rust, unless it never gets wet.

true, but stainless components are your best bet as far as rust prevention goes. Also I am sure there is some compound you could spray your pipes with to prevent rust, something similar to the dura-black coating offered one some MAC products

Ive had a UPR one on my mustang for 2 years now (same price, probably the same design) and I love it. It isnt raspy or annoying, those rumors are complete BS. and yes its catless. The install was fairly easy, and it fit perfectly.
