MIL ELIMINATORS
I need to know if i got screwd on the mil eliminator i bought, i paid $65 for it and they charged me $50 to install, and after they installed it they told me it might still come on for some reason. The same day after i left it came back on, why would this happen. Its a mil eliminator it is supposed to get rid of that check engine light, so you are going to tell me that i wasted my money on something that dosent work. Also i wanted to know if the check engine light makes the car run light crap because its supposed to go in limp mode. Please help!!!!!!!!!
Someone did something to you! I paid $50.00 for mine, and it took all of 5 minutes to install (the majority of that time was getting the car on the lift). I have not had my check engine light come, and they have been on the car for about a year (about 4,000 miles).

well i did pay for two also i took off 4 of the 6 cats, but the guy who installed it took about 30min he said he had took hook it up to a computer, also does a check engine light make the car run crappy? that's the main reason i had this done, because that what it said it does to car.
yes, if its an 02 problem you run in the limp home mode which is just basically tons of gas added to the mixture. 30 minutes? computer? damn. crawl under your car, look at your rear o2s. if the mills are hooked up then unplug your neg terminal on the battery and replug it 30 seconds later. unless your mils are junk or theres another code your throwing, you should be good.
if the cel is still on after you check everything over, you should have you computer scanned to see if you have a different code. id get my money back from the people who installed them too.
What kind of MILs did you buy? And which 02 sensors did they hook them up to? And for future reference it is a pretty big waste of money to have those installed. It can pretty easily be done with jacks. I had my exhaust installed only because I didnt feel like buying some jackstands and what not for something I was only going to use once. But you only really need a little bit of room to hookl them up. I am also willing to bet that they charged you 50 bucks because some places have a minimum labor cost. Which means, no matter how small the task might be, if it is any installation of any kind, it will cost a minimum, which is usually one hour's rate. So I guess the price isnt that unreasonable. Another thing to consider is that the "computer" they were hooking your car upto was a diagnostics tool. They cost about $7000, so in order to pay it off, the shop probably has to charge you more than it would seem like its worth. So the price you paid really isn't that big of a rip-off really. But I would really try to get a refund atleast for your MIL's.
