Default 98GT stock axle ratio?

What is the stock axle ratio on the 1998 GT? I checked my repairs manual and my code, and it had two different letters....very cfonfusing. So can anyone tell me please ?

i believe the standard is 2.73 with optional 3.27

Eh, I'm happy with my 3.73's.. and I went from 3.27's..

My '98 GT vert has 3.08 gears. I believe '99 to '04 had 3.27 gears and the new '05 & '06's have 3.55. In the earlier year Mustangs, they shipped with a variety of rearends so check your code on the door jam. Door jam only, forget the owner's manual. During different production runs Ford has a tendency to change gears, so to speak. Many varieties out there in the earlier models. I also believe all the 5.0's were shipped with lower ratio gears than the 4.6's as standard equiment. Here is a calculator to help you out: http://www.tchracing.com/tech/gearcalc.php

Yea i compared the doorjam one with the repair manual I got (the big one for mechanics), except that instead of having one letter code it has two WTF lol so i gave up I think M is 2.73 and E is 3.27 (im too lazy to look again) but in my doorjam it said ME (as an example) wow...

jack up the rear tires spin the tire one revolution and count how many times the drive shaft spins in comparison.

I am trying to find the ratio of my axle also. The door sticker says ME. what ratio does that state for a 98 GT?
