should i go from '65 coupe for 96-98 Cobra??
I was just tossing up the idea of selling my 1965 coupe to buy a 96-98 cobra, and i wanted to get a few of yalls opinions first....
My coupe has a 289 backed by a t-5. i believe specs are in my signature. i havent ran it yet, but i run very competitevly with 13.50-13.90 cars in my area. I recently restored the complete interior and is in perfect condition, the engine bay is also very clean. The exception is the exterior. The paint on the car is from 1972 and is vintage burgundy. However, the paint actually does not look bad, just looks like there is no clear left. I would expect to get about $6k-$7k for the car. It gets loads of attention and is really awesome but i just dont drive it everyday, especially commuting to college. thats what the ranger is for. but my plans were to sell the 65 and the ranger to buy a 96-98 cobra coupe. i want some muscle i can drive daily. I was hoping to pick up a lower mileage cobra (60k-70k) for about $10,000. Do yall think I should keep the ranger and '65 or would i be satisfied with a cobra. Are there any infamous issues with these cars that should cause me to stay away from them? How is the average gas mileage? How about insurance for a 19yr old male w/ perfet record? Would i be downgrading to a slower car if the cobra has a few simple mods? I have had a cobra fever for a couple of months now and just deciding to act on it. Please help with advice/critics/comments about my situation. Sorry its so long and i hope i put it in the right place... Thanks a lot!

Sounds like a pretty stocky 65 you have there. Got any pics? Do whatever you want. I think you would be happier with the Cobra. You can get alot of power out of the DOHC v8.

65 could be worth something later on if you keep it. seriously you might be kicking yourself in the *** 15 years from now when its value doubles. id honestly hang on to it, if anything id sink more money into it rather than a newer cobra.
