Default Nasty exhuast smell under hard acelleration

The other day coming home from school I got next to my freind and stopped next to him, and i took off and revved out to about 5000 RPM. When i got him he imed me and said "your car stinks". I asked him if there was any smoke at all and he said no. So im wondering what makes this smell? Also later that day i asked him another question about it, and he told me "it smelled like something was really wrong" So now im wondering

97 GT, stock exhuast except for flow catback

What kind of smell is it? A burning smell? Rotten egg smell? Could be your clutch as said above. Could also be a caliper sticking. Or your cats. [&:]

hmmm, I have a 97 GT 5 speed which exibits the same problem. I romp on it, and get a rotten eggy smell. Clutch is old, but it does not slip and I know what a clutch burnin smells like! And it's not the brakes, they are all good with no stickage.

I have been told by many people that the cats are either clogged or worn out internally. I am going to be rebuilding my tranny soon, and as such the stock 6 catted H pipe must come out so I am putting in a aftermarket 2 catted H pipe, probably BBK.

take care

George
