Default what to do????

hey everyone i have a question. When i turned 18 i bought a 99 v6 mustang and was pretty excited about it. Then after 2 years i sold it and have a 2003 GT which i was looking forward to modding the crap out of. As i became more knowledgeable in the 4.6L i was becoming aware of one common vibe from people. They are hella expensive to mod(even simple bolt ons). And one dude was so pissed he put a lot of money and parts and was dissapointed with his 1/4 mile time. What i was thinking was waiting maybe 1 year and getting a 03/04 cobra thats starts me at 390 HP. Considering my 03 Gt is paid off and have been working my azz off to save money and the price decline by that time for an 03 04 cobra will probably be low to mid 20g's. Would it be worth it to wait and get the cobra?

Get the Cobra, but as far as price...it's more like mid $20K to upper $20K.

I have been debating selling my GT and getting a Cobra as well, but I just can't get myself to do it. It's going to cost $10k more, plus more insurance, plus more money in mods. I'm fairly confident I can get the GT moving quite fast with $10k difference. My goal is 450-500RWHP, and I'll slowly do what it takes to get there. I have the funds, and am not really in a hurry. My only fear is that I'll get bored with it and get something else (ahem...Corvette...*cough*) before I actually finish it.

I say stick with the GT unless your willing to put down even more money for a Cobra. If it's a project car that you think you will have for a LONG time, think about your goals. There are a lot of people that go on and on saying what they want to do. Sure 450-500RWHP isn't that spectacular compared to what some people out there are running. But accomplishing a goal and actually finishing the car is a great feeling.

...but then again, is it ever REALLY done?

ok it is not at all expensive to hook upi a stang. We are like the civics of the domestics. Every bold on is like 200 or under and if you want more then you get more. We get more bang for the buck. If you get a TA or SS you will spend twice as much to get the same amount of HP. upgrading a stang is easy as hell.

Stangs are pretty easy to mod. Probably the cheapest muscle car out there with a big aftermarket. I think by the beginning of 07 the 03/04 Cobras' might run as low as $20,000. I'd say keep the GT since its paid off and start modding it.

A lot of them cost far more than that. Although, if your a bargain shopper you can find people selling their stuff and get things relatively cheap.
