i'm sure he is. the funny thing is, he probably spent 3 times on that stuff than what he'd have to spend on going the F/I AND PI swap route.

Exactly. Nobody said it can't be done, just the $$$ it's going to take is up there.

I dont know how much he spent......but in "MY OPINION" it seems like it would have been just as cheap probly cheaper. He pulled his motor went through it. It isnt stroked. So a forged rebuild any track time duty car can use that. Then ported his heads himself. He did use a pi intake. plenum and such. Cams the normal stuff. I meen I dont see how it would have been cheaper for him. I am sure his auto tranny is tricked out. I have built some c-6 trannys with my pops and in a slush box tranny, there is so many tricks for performance it isnt even funny. He has a flow sheet posted in there were his NON PI ported heads flow better than non ported pi heads so If thats the case after the porting 12's should be very easy to find with the necessary supporting mods.

How high was his stall? above 3200??? I'd guess a 3500 stall. I'm installing a 2800 stall, transgo shift kit and a PI intake. I should hit around 13.7-13.8. After that I'll drop about 6-700 on a ZEX kit for teh win and a 12 second timeslip

Everyone knows this

PI>NON PI

P&P NON PI> PI

P&P PI> P&P NON PI

Im not shure what his stall speed is. I registerd there cuz I want to ask him some stuff I just read his post and sig. Also as far as price goes I could see some money spent more than a pi swap. But that is if the work was paid for. If you are doing the work your self, wich is my stand point, like this guy did. You could potentialy save money. I meen I would not pay for ported factory heads simply because I can do the work myself. So thats were savings would be found or lost $ wise.

but how many people have the tools, let alone the knowledge to port their own heads?. A good P&P job can cost you close to a grand alone. Meanwhile a PI swap can be done for about $800. You can snag a longblock out of a junkyard from many places for 350-450 bucks. If you can do the work yourself, you need gaskets and such and you can get the job done for about 600. If you need labor then about 1k....

Dude unless you drop some huge cash it's impossible to get NPI's to run 12's. Mid-high 13's are possible, but Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords is building up a 200k NPI 96 trying to get 300 at the wheels and the only way they did that was swapping out the motor for a new short block w/ forged internals and new P/P NPI heads, cams and other ****. On the 200k motor they were running all the bolt ons with LT's and full exhaust, Cams and a Dyno tune and it was only putting down 240 at the wheels. If you do the math that's no where near 12's. If you just so happen to pull it off then post it because from what we all know and have experienced it's impossible to do that NPI N/A!

Yep... you can do it if you're looking to spend 3 times more.

This kinda reminds me of code. He had a goal to make a very fast N/A 4.6. He knew what it would take and knew he would spend and ****load of money to get it there. A ton of people come on here and think since he's N/A they could do that too for less than it would cost for F/I. Definatly very far from the truth.
