Default embaressing question

hey this is embaressing but i was about to take a look at my air filter, and i seriously could not figure out how to get the filter out. i unscrewed the top screw, and took off that latch thing, now how do i get it out?

i know this is a stupid question, but please give me a serious answer

it shoulod just pull right out. it's only attached by that latch.

there also is a 8mm bolt at the top of the filter housing aginst the fender

The piece that hooks the plastic cover to the outside of the engine bay should unscrew and then the latch around the plastic cover should be undone and then you should be able to pull the filter out. Before you keep in mind what I just wrote, what year is your stang?

no. It takes a little tinkering and turning to get the filter box out because on the side that goes into the fender is a silencer. You have the bolt and circular clamp off so just move it around to get it out. Don't force it, just work it out. What kind of filter are you putting back in? I put in a Wix filter. Best non K&N filter around. was like $15.

You think this one is a pain... the new ford econolines use the same style setup and the way they have it positioned it's an abosulte bi*** to get back together.
