Default air filter replacing...

ok...i got the 8mm bolt off, i unlatched the latch, now i am soposed to pull it out...i dont get this, i still have the air silencer on it, and it goes pretty deep into the fenderwell, i tried working it out but it wont come out...PLEASE HELP!!

why are so many people having problems with this recently? It should come apart fairly easily, and the filter slide right out. just be sure not to kill your MAF wires while yanking.
are you trying to remove your silencer or replace your air filter or both?

Just keep pulling on it, it should just come out. Pull the latch on the housing and it should fall out

the thing that goes into the fender is made of rubber and you cannot damage it by pulling on it, so just pull your air filter box away from it once you have the small screw and the latch undone.

I cleaned mine late one night and it must've taken me 45 minutes to get the damn thing back on. the trick is to leave the front part on and only mess with latch and move the intake hose.
