It's fine, why did you wait 5,000 miles to change your oil?

You probably ought to run it more than 10 minutes at a go if you're going to run it during the winter. Depending on how cold it gets in your neck of the woods it will probably take longer than 10 minutes to get the engine and components at optimum temps and work out any moisture or what-not. At ten minutes your just barely letting it get hot then shutting it down, that can cause unecessary wear.

Most people I know just disconnect the battery so that it doesn't run down, crack the window, and let it sit with 1/2 tank of gas. As far as the oil goes, if your oil is dirty then you'll probably want to change it once it comes out of storage, since any dirt/particulate matter will have had plenty of time to settle. If you changed the oil right before you put it into storageyou shouldn't have any problems.

Dan its kilometers so its only 3000 miles (Canada/metric). Anyway gio I store for the winter too and I recommend changing the oil. I think $40-$70 for an oil change is good cheappeace of mind. I also flush the cooling system each springand check/top up all other fluids. If your like me the first few weeks I have her out its pretty much ***** to the wall.

Also I agree w/ kmcferrin. Run it long enough to bring everything to normal operating temps. Some guys like to pull the coil wire (not sure about newer ignition systems) and crank it over a few times to lubricate everything before firing it up.

How much did it cost for the heated garage ? (i live in canada as well, whereabouts are you?) and have you ever tried driving the stang in winter? is it even feasible to drive it in the winter in the toronto region? I ask cuz i dont know if i should trade in my 92 camry when i do pick up an 04 or 05 stang or to keep it and insure the camry for winter and the stang for summer
