Default SLP Headers

Guys,

I am so freaking torn between what the **** to do with my exhaust system. I was going to go with BBK LT's and SLP X, but it won't fit correctly... then someone was telling me BBK will turn to crap after a while and the SLP LT's are coated + stainless steel and they are worth it, but I really didn't want to spend that much...

I am so torn, someone pick me up =( Im so confused, help me out guys... please. Going through this crap makes me not want to do anything to the car anymore... I feel like I can get so much more with the money Im putting into my exhaust, but I really want it! Someone tell me its worth it...

But anyway... IF I was to go with the SLP Headers, I have a Vert, so work would need to be done to the K-Member. My mechanic "said" not to mess with the k-member... But I want to know, IF I went with the SLP LT's... What would I need to do to the K-Member? What modifications would need to be made? So I can discuss it with my mechanic...

Thanks =/

i have a 97 gt, coupe with full slp exhaust. Probably spent close to 2 grand alone just in exhaust, but i dont regret one penny. Definately go with slp longtubes, theyre so awsome!! I'm not sure about your k member since you have a vert though, give slp a call.

Yea see I was really only planning on spending like $1200 installed on my exhaust, lol. If I went with the full SLP setup, assuming I can catch some good prices, Im looking at $1600 installed, which is A LOT more than I expected. Not that I don't have the money, I want to get this done "right"... Im just so confused with everyone telling me something different. And I can't get anything to either match up correctly or fit my car, lol.

You said its DEFINITELY worth it right? I think it would be too, its just so much money.. ahhh. I better get used to it if Im going to mod my car for the shows though =)

You only live once... Thats how I think of it =)

And does anyone know about this K-member modification....?!?

haha yeah i totally agree with you its a **** load of money just to spend on exhaust. But i hear stories about some exhausts rusting, some header leaks, stuff like that. I've had my full exhaust on now for about 5-6 months and i have not had one single problem yet!! It really is true, "you get what you pay for"!! Go slp man, you wont regret it.

Stanger you have the LM1's or 2s?

If you do have the 1's is the o/r pipe too loud you think? Because Im going with the 1's, but Im thinking the o/r pipe will be just unbearable and it will sound like crap..

If its the 2's then the o/r pipe probably sounds nasty, but which do you have? Just curious...

K-MEMBER Mods anyone?!

i have lm1's...with an o/r x pipe and longtubes...yes it is a very loud setup, but i love it that way. I get compliments every time i take it out. It's a very unique sound, sounds good at idle, and at wot like a fricken race car. I dont think you can go wrong either way though with either the 1's or 2's...2's aren't as loud just deeper.

Well Im definitely going with the LM1's... and the Modular X-pipe... But I don't know whether to put the race pipes in or the cats, lol.
I only wanted the cats to get rid of the rasp... yours isnt raspy?

And you don't think its annoying, ridiculously loud like the hatters say? Im only asking because Im like you, I want LOUD.. But I don't want people to hate me =)

I helped my friend install some bbk lt's on his stang, and they appeared to be a great quality and he has had them on a little less than a year and hasn't ran into any problems with them.
