Just park somewhere that you don't mind having gas pissed all over becuase it will happen.

I just grabbed a towel....its not a lot of gas, just a "drool" and drops after you unhook the lines. After you detatch them, just push them up so they stop dripping.

so you do need a lil disconnecter type tool, cause i tried prying mine off by hand and was so unsuccesful, my connection is metal. does autozone lend out this tool or can i buy it for cheap?

If it's the metal connection dont bother it is physically impossible without the tool. All it is is a little piece of plastic called a fuel line disconnector, go to any auto parts store I paid $12 for it but that's becuase it only came in a set with 5 different sizes, you only need the 3/8" disconnector.

Yah apparently there are 2 different types of connections I was surprised by it too since my haynes manual showed the plastic clip connection, the metal one IMO is kick *** becuase once you have the tool it is really simple and the new filter just *clicks* right into place.

This doesn't deal with a new pump.. The pump would be in the tank.
